Floral Envelope die: lifescraftart.com/products/lifescraft-flower-envelope-cutting-dies
I took a 5 x 7" off white card base and used an olive green alcohol marker to color the edges about 1/4" from the edge then using paper from Joann Park Lane Old World 6 x 8" paper pad link: tinyurl.com/ypdajnm4, I cut a floral paper to 4 3/4" x 6 3/4" and glued it to the card base with Tombow Mono Aqua glue then cut another paper from the same paper pad that looks like a written letter, and die cut the envelope from it and glued it to the front of the card. I die cut several of the leaves from green paper from the same paper pad and die cut the flowers out of several colors of mirror cardstock as well as the written letter piece from the Old World paper pad. I started gluing the leaves into the open part of the envelope and covered as much of that section of the die cut as possible, then glued leaves toward the bottom of the envelope as well. After I felt the leaves were sufficient to cover the inside of the envelope, I started by gluing the flowers that are shaped like a shell all over the design, then once I used all of them, I took the flowers with the circle opening and thin foam tape strips link: tinyurl.com/48xp4tvw glued across the back to not only glue the flower to the card, but also to hold the center circle in place. I started by using one strip on some flowers, then added two strips to some, then three strips to some and places them strategically around the top portion of the envelope. I thought the flowers still needed something, so added flatback pearls and colored rhinestones to the centers of the flowers.
I hope you'll go to Carrie's video to check out her take on this die. Neither of our channels are monetized and neither of us are affiliated with Lifescraftart.com

      They do still sell the dies...Of the things they sent me, I really liked the tag punch because if has an embossed circle around the circle opening and when I used it, I cut both ends of paper so it made the paper more of an embellishment... The die link is below the video is you're interested....and, if you want to do another collab video, I'll email you the things I just requested from them.

You make such beautiful cards, and if you have a technique you'd like to try and send me your card, I'd make a video of that technique and show your card ....that would be fun too...I just found my travel journal from the trip where we met you and Vince and at the end when I say our favorite foods and moment, I said my favorite moment was meeting you and Vince and I said I felt like we would continue to stay and touch and it seemed like the beginning of a great friendship and it has been...thought you'd like to know.

    • @craftingforalmosteveryone

      The room was really nice, especially since we spent so much time there...pretty much all of the time we were at sea, 7 days, we barely left the room and never really went out on the balcony as it was too windy and cold....the gummy bears were amazing...Rich is a real trooper...especially the day he had to push me up that ramp that was almost vertical. They asked him if he needed help and he said no, which he normally wouldn't have needed, but we didn't realize he'd have to start and stop and maintain the wheelchair with me almost tipped over backwards...it was scary for both of us. I was more worried that the chair would roll over him and he'd get hurt, than I was worried for myself. It was a great trip. I wish we could've seen you in Belfast.. I do think we'll meet someday.

    • @craftingforalmosteveryone
      @craftingforalmosteveryone 8 днів тому

      The bridge should have been my favorite thing from the trip as I was mesmerized by it, night or day. We have always gone on cruises to find cities we'd like to revisit and of the cities we spent time in, only London really spoke to us. I think in part because our driver knew the city so well and on our 2 1/2 hr drive from the seaport, we had a lot of time to tell him things we like and don't like, so he was really focused on taking us to good spots for us. The fish and chips was good, but would have been better if they'd used the "chips" we had in Paris, as Rich can't stop talking about them. The Zac Efron donut was such a disappointment compared to the one with strawberries and cream. We loved the billboard for McDonalds advertising the more melty cheese, as we both can't remember ever eating a cheeseburger there with actual melted cheese and wondered why it's so important in London but not in the US.... Rich's favorite candy is dark chocolate covered orange peels and the difference in Belgium is they used the whole orange so it was sweet and tart..he loved it. Did you know Boscovs sells dark chocolate covered orange peels? Three of the days at sea, my arthritis was thinking of killing me, and wouldn't let me digest food, so vanilla milkshakes were all I could tolerate. Our poor butler was from the Philippines and had never heard of a milkshake and after I explained how to make it, I think she found a bartender who knew how...3 days...all I ate, and I'd still eat more of them, haha. So glad you came along.

    Rich is a man after my own heart. I love chocolate covered orange peel, especially if it’s dark chocolate. Also love dark chocolate ginger. The best place I’ve ever had either is in Old Dayton Beach, Florida at Angell & Phelps. We went with friends to Florida and discovered that place and spent a fortune there. We bought so much stuff. Any time we’d go to Florida we’d have to go there. My husband’s favorite was their dark chocolate maple creams. He was diabetic, so he’d limit himself to one a day or every couple of days to make them last as long as possible. My son’s favorite was the dark chocolate mint creams. Of course everything we ever tried was wonderful. I don’t know if I’ll ever go back now that my husband is gone. But I think they ship so when the weather gets colder I may at some point treat my son and myself.

    • @craftingforalmosteveryone
      @craftingforalmosteveryone 8 днів тому

      Yes, dark chocolate covered orange peels is the only way to go. We've never been to Old Dayton Beach, but if we ever get there, you know we'll be stopping at Angell & Phelps... I've saved their website for fall, and once they can ship chocolate again, I'll see if I can order some for Rich's birthday in December. I'll bet your son would love some for Christmas, and they'd be a great treat for both of you, as you said. I'm a chocolate covered nut kind of girl. Rich's other favorite is dark chocolate covered raspberry cordials. So glad you came along on the trip with us.

      I've never made a journal with so many embellishments...mainly I just wrote in them, but it was so much fun adding photos and it makes it so much easier to remember when you have them to look back on. And we always write our favorite things we ate and on this trip, because it was 17 days, it became a blur of the things we ate. so it was lucky we kept track of favorite things throughout the trip, otherwise I think we'd have forgotten some of them. I understand the issues with the glue bottle. Have you considered using a glue sponge??I saw some DIY's on U-tube. They don't take a lot of time and you can make it with only a few items from Dollar Tree. If it starts to dry, spritz with a little water and glycerin, spritz with rubbing alcohol every couple of weeks to prevent mold issues. Hope this works for you! Yes, 3 hrs in Paris wasn't enough time to say we were actually there...we saw so little but Rich did love their french fries and the french fries in Belgium as they fry them in beef fat and triple fry them....And yes, they are really bad for you...hard to believe that their version is worse for you than ours...because every country we visited, we were surprised at the things that are monitored, like sugar in sodas. And here, you go into any convenience store and you can buy a huge soda from a fountain and we didn't see one convenience store with a fountain in it that looks like this. I think the bad days were a combination of losing an hour every day we were at sea, how rough the sea was and how damp and cold it was...it was in the low 40's when we were at sea. I'm not sure where a lot of the people on the ship thought we were going, as they brought their swimwear and were unhappy with the cold. We wanted to be sure we brought the right weight of clothes and did, and neither of us had shorts in our bags, let alone swimwear....I guess the people who brought shorts and t-shirts didn't check the weather forecasts...there were a lot of grumpy people on the trip, sadly.

      You'd think we'd be ready to come home, but I wish we could have had more time in London and Paris...such a disappointment only being there for 3 hours, as you really can't say you've been there when it took longer to travel back and forth than we spent there... The Gingerbread Haus was great, and we let the owner decide what we should try and she chose a cream filled pastry for me and it was great, but it was before I felt confident enough to video in her store, so I didn't and wish I had so viewers could see the pastries she had... On our walk back to the ship, we found a chocolate shop that had chocolate covered homemade raspberry flavored marshmallows and Rich loved those. I don't remember the name of that shop but it was also really great. Rich got a sample box of their chocolates. You're not supposed to buy pastries or chocolates unless they are in sealed packaging, and Rich was really worried that they would confiscate them, but they didn't care, but he worried so much about it that he ate almost all of them before we got back on the ship...it was funny to watch, I have to say. Too bad you were out of town, i would've loved meeting you in person..

      We love Canada and only live about 2 1/2 hrs from Buffalo. We live about 45 minutes south of Erie PA, so live a long way from Hslifax. We left NYC and it was 80 degrees then were one day to Nova Scotia and when we landed there, it was in the low 40's, so quite a temperature difference.. That came as no big surprise to us because our weather is like that, but a lot of people on board must have misunderstood the idea of trans-Atlantic, as they wore shorts and brought swimwear and were not dressed for Halifax in the spring. I wish the weather had been good enough to visit the nearby seaport, but it was drizzling and we decided it was more important to try the Gingerbread Haus..snd yes, you can be our tour guide for Halifax anytime....

      I made another one of these plates from a Hobby Lobby sewing no cut mat, and I've been using it for 4-5 years and haven't needed to use this one yet as the first one is still going strong. The only thing I've done is added additional shims as the plates get a little thinner with use over time, but, they don't warp, and you can't see the cuts like with the clear plastic plates you get with your unit. Here's the other video in case you'd like to check it out. ua-cam.com/video/6oZ0e4lm_XM/v-deo.html Sandy

      I love my Vagabond and thnks it's amazing compared to the other electric units out there as the slot is wide enough for the old thicker dies. And if you haven't seen my video on how to make your own plates, that is a game changer. I've been using the same cutting plate for several years and it didn't warp and continues to cut like a champ. I made this plate 4 years ago and am still only using it and the sandwich in the order I give in the video. ua-cam.com/video/6oZ0e4lm_XM/v-deo.html You'll be amazed how this doesn't warp. I think I paid under $5 for the self healing mat in the sewing dept of Hobby Lobby and I bought the Dollar Tree cutting mats you'd use in the kitchen and use them for shims so the sandwich is tight in your die cutting machine. Over time, the sandwich gets a little bit more loose, so you might need to add another of the "shims" and I just used double sided tape to adhere this to the underside of the cutting plate I created. I swear by these plates and won't buy the ones from Sizzix again. Glad you got such a bargain on your Vagabond I, I got something jammed in my I and had to upgrade to a II and have never had an issue with it. Best of luck to you in your crafting...Sandy

I originally started it because I couldn't find anyone on YT that would tell me what tools I could and couldn't use and I hated that others would struggle, like me, with trying to find the one tool I could use (in certain instances.) I always try to make sure I tell people my channel isn't monetized and that I'm not affiliated with any companies so people know if I say I do like a tool, it's the truth and not because I'm paid to say so. And ultimately I am a frugal girl so want to help others find cheaper ways of doing things whenever possible and have made so many videos on brewing up my own diy concoctions haha... I created my channel specifically for people with physical limitations as so many YTers would tell you a tool will work if you have hand/wrist issues and actually they have no idea if that's the case...clearly you know if I say that, I know if a tool will work or not for people with wrist/hand issues. We just went on a trip to celebrate me walking again and in the video I visit a perfume store of Middle Eastern scents and mention that I'd like to do a video on the perfumes I've bought and how they differ from mass marketed perfumes here in the US. A lot of them can still be bought on Amazon and I don't believe in spending hundreds of dollars for perfumes because I have a pretty large collection and will never use them in this lifetime (I'm almost 65) but love the idea of sharing more information about them and maybe sending people samples of them sprayed on a stick if they live within the US so they have a better idea of what they smell like.... Would that be a video you'd be interested in? As for these powders, if you buy a sample set of perfume, the little bottles with a stopper on them, you could make a good amount of scented powder with one of those bottles, just as an fyi, and make it from whatever scent you love most. I like the cover for your journal. I’ve never done a journal. I watch people make them but they fill them with so much stuff before they do anything that it never made sense to me. But yours seems to have an actual purpose, so it’s going to be interesting to watch the progress on it. I hope this trip is everything you hope for and that this one breaks the curse. Whenever my husband and I went on a trip we seemed to always get lost at some point. It was never for long or really serious, but we didn’t feel we’d been on vacation if we didn’t get lost. Getting lost or detoured, whether on a trip or just close to home became an adventure for us. We saw it as a chance to see something different and later on it could be quite useful to learn new ways of getting places. Don’t know what I’ll do now though because my husband always said I was directionally challenged. Guess my phone’s GPS will have to get me from point A to point B now.

      I'm sure you and your husband had map fights like we did, back when we had paper maps...Inevitably I'd tell Rich to turn one way and he'd turn the other and the fight was on, haha...I think I miss paper maps as I don't always trust our GPS as once, it drove us into a field with an gas well on it on what they termed a road. I'm like you with journals and never understand all of the pages that are designer paper..do you write on those? I don't know. I know mine will be all writing, photos and the stickers I've shown. I'm really excited with the paper clip embellishments as once we get home and I want to look at a page when we were on the water, I can simply look for the paper clips with the ships on them, with each clip representing a day at sea...so if it was our fourth day at sea, I can go to the 4th paperclip and be able to read all about it. I love that your memories of trips are of getting lost and finding your way home...as mine are of all the things that have gone wrong, from getting stuck in an elevator between floors and having Rich lift me out, to being stuck in the Cleveland airport for 3 days as our charter plane had mechanical issues and they had no back up plane, to being caught in a level 4 hurricane in St Maarten. Someone told me I should write a book about all the things that have gone wrong for us, it's what makes travelling unique to us and although at the time, some of the things were pretty scary, we've lived to tell the tale...and we got home eventually, just like you. As for the journal cover, I plan on adding the city names once I cut them from books I bought about visiting them so it will have a little more interest..

      Thanks for the sweet note. I can honestly tell you I can only remember one trip where we were blessed. We drove from San Francisco to LA and our plane left LA on the evening of 9/10/2001 and got us home before midnight... When the planes hit the twin towers I got so many calls at work from co-workers thinking I was probably stuck in California and wanted to know how I would ever get home. I consider that divine intervention. I hope nothing goes wrong on this trip and will give you all the details when we get home and plan on showing the journal once all the mini photos and daily journalling are in it. I loved the idea of the paper clips so we can easily find the day we spend in Paris from the Eifel tower clip... Forgot to tell you when we saw you in Maine, on our drive home, we got caught in a 4 hour traffic jam on an interstate then hours later traffic slowed and a man driving a vehicle towing a speed boat couldn't slow down in time and we could see the boat coming across both lanes in our rear view mirror.. I don't know how the driver ever got the boat straight, but we were definitely prepared for major impact.. I've never heard of anyone ever having a boat try to hit them in traffic like that, hahahaha
